Paphos Airport Arrivals FAQ’s

In this guide we answer many of the frequently asked questions about Paphos Airport Arrivals and procedures.

 

It is always advisable to keep informed with all the Paphos Airport Arrivals, especially if you are collecting passengers from the airport. Unfortunately,  delays do occur, especially at peak times and throughout the Summer months when Paphos airport can get very busy due to all the additional charter flights that service the airport with tourists.  The last thing you want, is to turn up at the airport far to early and be left having to wait longer than is necessary.

Buses:

Bus Services From Paphos Airport

There is a local bus service available that connect passengers from the airport to the centre of Paphos. The bus services from Paphos Airport run at regular intervals throughout the day and night. The bus runs to Kato Paphos,Paphos harbour and then to the Tombs of The Kings bus station. The cost of a single fare is €2 one way (at the time of writing), which means it is a very cost effective form of transfer to and from the airport, especially if you are travelling alone.

 

Baggage Reclaim:

The Baggage Reclaim area is where you can collect any luggage that you may have checked-in for your flight. Each flight arrival at Paphos Airport is allocated its own carousel. Once inside the Baggage Reclaim area, you will need to locate the carousel which is processing your flight. The easiest way to locate your carousel is to simply check the overhead monitors that are located above the carousels. The monitors inform passengers which carousel is processing each flight. The monitors display the flight number, origin and carousel number. Simply locate the relevant carousel for your flight and wait for your luggage to appear.

 

Facilities Inside The Baggage Reclaim Area:

  • Duty Free Shop

There are also trolleys available inside the Baggage Reclaim area to assists passengers with their luggage.

Once you have successfully reclaimed your luggage, you will need to make your way through to the main arrivals lobby area.

Obviously, if you are only travelling with hand luggage and do not have ‘Hold’ luggage to collect, you can proceed straight the main Arrivals area.

 

Car Hire:

Car Hire Companies At Paphos Airport Arrivals

Many car hire companies have desks located inside the airport Arrivals area. As you enter the main Arrivals lobby, you will see several car hire company desks including:

  • Europcar
  • Sixt
  • Budget
  • Astra Car Rental
  • Avis
  • Hertz

If you have pre-booked your car hire from Paphos Airport in advance (which is always advisable), you will need to make your way to the appropriate car hire desk, to which you booked your car hire with. You will be required to present your driving licence and any other documentation you have been asked to provide upon your arrival. These will usually be a valid credit card, booking reference/form or voucher. You will then need to complete the required paper work and will then be issued with the keys to your vehicle. A member of staff will then direct you to your car. Cars are generally parked in the car park opposite the main Terminal building.

Lobby:

The Main Arrivals Lobby Area At Paphos Airport

The main Arrivals Lobby area at the airport is the main meeting and greeting point for passengers arriving at Paphos. If you are being collected from the airport by a family member of friend, then this is the place where they will normally meet you. If you have booked your holiday through a tour operator and your transfer is included, this is where you will be able to find your holiday representative.  They will then point you in the right direction to your coach or other form of transport.

The main Arrivals Lobby area at Paphos Airport is not very big. As a result it is very easy to find everything you may need before your onward journey.

Outside The Main Arrivals Lobby Area

Passenger have a choice of transport to and from the airport. Both taxis and local bus services can be found directly outside the main Arrivals area.

Parking:

If you are collecting passengers from Paphos airport, you will need to park your car.  This is one good example of why you need to be kept informed on all Paphos Airport Arrivals. Procedures:

Once your flights touches down at Paphos Airport, the aircraft will taxi to the Apron. It will then park in the parking bay to which it has been allocated. Passengers will then be required to remain seated until the aircraft has come to a complete stand still. Then until the ‘Fasten Seatbelt’ sign has been switched off. Once the aircraft is in position, the ground staff at the airport will attach the staircase  or air-bridge.  These will enable passengers to disembark the aircraft safely.

When it is safe to disembark the aircraft, the cabin staff will inform passengers. Passengers can then make their way to the exit doors and proceed to disembark the aircraft. Once you have disembarked the aircraft, you will then need to make your way to the main terminal building. This generally requires a short walk from the aircraft to the Terminal building. If you require assistance from the aircraft to the Terminal building, it is recommended that you contact the airline or airport prior to your departure date. This will ensure that there will be a member of staff waiting to assist you on your arrival.

 

Security And Passport Control:

As with any other International airport, you will then be required to produce your passport and clear passport control before proceeding through into the main Arrivals area of the Terminal.  This process does not take too long and obviously depend on how busy the airport is and how many flights have just landed. Once through security, you can then make your way to the Baggage Reclaim area to where your luggage will be dispatched once off the aircraft.

 

Taxis

Taxis wait outside the main Arrivals area at Paphos Airport. If you are wanting to catch a taxi from the airport to your chosen destination, simply make your way outside to the taxis. It is advisable to ask the taxi driver how much the fare will be before you actually get in the taxi. Taxi fares are determined by the distanced travelled and each destination will vary in price.

  • Eliminates waiting in a queue
  • Allows you to pay securely in advance
  • Ensures you know exactly how much you pay
